As promised, we are pleased to announce and in association with Insight Training we invite you to our upcoming ‘What makes a good audit manager’ workshop.
This workshop is taking place on 14 May 2024 from 09:30 – 16:30
What does this workshop contain?
This one-day workshop will provide a practical insight into what’s required when stepping up to manager from senior and, provide insights into exactly what the audit manager can do to support the RI.
Balancing the needs of clients, audit teams and RIs can make the role of audit manager a challenging one. This workshop will focus on the technical, people and project management skills needed to succeed in the role and use real life examples to identify practical solutions to help improve the quality and efficiency of the audits you manage.
The day will cover the following:
- The audit as a project – how to manage it effectively.
- What the role entails and how it differs from that of the audit senior and the R.I
- Effective audit planning.
- Challenging audit areas including accounting estimates and going concern.
- Effective delegation and getting the best out of your team.
- Managing internally – the team, the RI and other stakeholders.
- Managing clients in difficult situations, how to address them and how and when to ask for help.
- Keep the plates spinning – time management challenges for audit managers and how to manage them.
- How to conduct a manager review of the file efficiently and effectively.
- Coaching, delegation, and feedback – key tips and traps for managers.
- Completion and getting audits over the line.

These sessions would suit existing audit managers looking to develop in the role as well as those aiming to transition to manager, in the near future.
