Accountancy firm Simpson Wreford & Co, based in Woolwich, London, has announced that it is joining the UK200Group effective from 1 April 2017.
The UK200Group is the UK’s leading membership association of independent chartered accountancy and law firms, whose members act for over 150,000 SMEs and private clients.
Declan Swan, CEO of the UK200Group, said, “We’re honoured to welcome an accountancy firm as well-established as Simpson Wreford & Co to the UK200Group, and are keen to start working with them to grow their business.
“The firm has passed all of our quality assurance tests, which is essential for us as it means that all members within the group can refer business with confidence and can trust the advice and experience of others.”
Carl Graham, Managing Partner of Simpson Wreford & Co, said, “Although the firm has a long and steady history, having been in existence since 1886, we have been growing more quickly in recent years, adding many new clients and some younger partners. This has lead us to strengthen our skill-set through strategic associations.
“In the modern, digital economy, in the face of Brexit, businesses are now looking overseas for new customers, so it’s vital that we take on an international dimension. The UK200Group gives us vital access to partners across the world, so we can provide advice on global issues from regional specialists.
“We sought a connection that would help to raise our profile, broaden our consultancy offering, support new areas that we are currently unable to provide, and link in with international associations such as IAPA to give a referral network to help our international clients.
“The UK200Group seemed a good fit – similarly focused, independent firms, with a strong quality ethos and good international connections. They seemed keen to welcome us too, which helps!”
What are you looking to get from the UK200Group?
“We are looking forward to benefitting from the peer-to-peer support that the group provides, and hope that we can share best practice and find out how other firms resolve common problems. We want to use the association to contribute to continued training and development for our employees.
“Access to two-way referral streams, both nationally and internationally, is also a main attraction, especially as we can trust other member firms because of the organisation’s robust quality assurance system.”
The UK200Group, established in 1986, represents a significant group of trusted, quality-assured business advisers – chartered accountants and lawyers – who have over 150,000 SME clients in total. As such, the UK200Group acts as the voice for 1,899 charities, over 12% of all registered academies, more than 3,887 farms, 800 healthcare businesses and over 4,000 property and construction professionals.
